Day 1: Uluru (Ayers Rock) – Kata Tjuta (the Olgas)
On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel (flights to arrive prior to 1.00 pm). This afternoon your guide will escort you on a 2-3 hour walk through the Kata Tjuta domes to the Valley of the Winds lookout. The walking path is rocky and requires a good level of fitness. After the walk take in a magnificent ‘outback’ sunset over Kata Tjuta. Refresh yourself with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and nibbles. Travel to our exclusive barbecue venue to enjoy a traditional Australian barbecue dinner consisting of steak, sausages, kangaroo meat, salads and bread with complimentary Australian sparkling wine. There is time for stargazing too (weather permitting). Tea and coffee were provided. Enquire about vegetarian meals at the time of booking.

Day 2: Uluru (Ayers Rock)
This morning join the Uluru Sunrise, Climb and Base Tour (Y18) or for the non-climbers, the Uluru Sunrise and Guided Cultural Walk (Y41). On both tours, you will rise early this morning to travel to the Uluru sunrise viewing area. Watch the first rays of dawn set the Red Centre alight whilst enjoying a warming cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. Both tours also include a visit to Mutitjulu Waterhole and the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. See page 16/17 for more details. This evening enjoy the sunset at Uluru with nibbles and a complimentary glass of wine.
Day 3: Kings Canyon
In the morning relax or join an optional tour. In the afternoon travel to Kings Canyon. There may be time to view the sunset on arrival. This evening you may wish to attend the award-winning ‘Sounds of Firelight’ dinner, exclusive to King Canyon Resort. See page 19 for details.

Day 4: Kings Canyon
In the cool of the morning join your Driver/Guide for a 3-hour guided climb to and around the rim of Kings Canyon. Marvel at the breathtaking views of Watarrka National Park and into the canyon itself. The rim walk is rocky and steep in places and is recommended for those with a good level of fitness. Alternatively, you may wish to explore the canyon floor, an easier shady walk that follows a trail between the two sheer walls of the canyon. Travel on to Alice Springs or back to Ayers Rock Resort this afternoon. |
