Rise early this morning to travel to the
Uluru sunrise viewing area. Watch the first rays of dawn set
Uluru and the Red Centre alight whilst
enjoying a warming cup of tea or coffee and
biscuits. For those with a good level of fitness,
there is the opportunity to climb Uluru.
Alternatively, non-climbers can choose to take
a peaceful stroll along the Mala walk (non-guided),
which winds among the bloodwood trees alongside Uluru. After the
climb, join your AAT Kings Driver. Guide for a tour around the base of Uluru.
Travel by coach to the Mutitjulu Walk
where you will be escorted to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole.
View Aboriginal rock paintings and learn about the area as your
Driver/Guide points out some native flora and explains the Aboriginal
and European history of Uluru. Visit the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre,
where you can learn about Aboriginal culture and see Aboriginal arts and crafts,
before returning to Ayers Rock Resort.

Travel to the sunrise viewing area at the
the eastern end of Uluru and watch the first
sunlight of the day creeps across the desert
plains. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and
biscuits as the morning sun slowly changes
the colour of Uluru. In summer, watching
sunrise at Uluru in the cool morning air
is the perfect start to the day. In winter
months, we recommend a jacket as the
desert air can be cold.

ULURU SUNRISE AND GUIDED CULTURAL WALK

Rise early this morning to travel to the
the sunrise viewing area at the eastern end
of Uluru. Watch the first rays of dawn set
Uluru and the Red Centre alight while
enjoying a warming cup of tea or coffee and
biscuits. After sunrise travel by coach to
the Mutitjulu Waterhole where your guide
will indicate the natural features of the
landscape, Aboriginal rock paintings and
traditional Aboriginal stories relating to this
special area. You’ll walk to the sacred site of
Kuniya Piti (approximately 1 ½ hours) from
where you’ll travel by coach around the
the base of Uluru to view Kantju Gorge. After
rainfall water can cascade down the side
of Uluru plunging some 90 metres to the
ground. We will now take the Mala Walk
(45 minutes) through one of the most
important habitation areas for the
Aboriginal people over thousands of years.
There is also the opportunity to visit the
Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre where
you can learn more about Anangu and
Tjukurpa (Anangu beliefs and laws).
