3 DAY RED CENTRE SIGHTS AND SOUND

Day 1: Uluru (Ayers Rock)
On arrival in Ayers Rock Resort you will be transferred to your hotel. Late afternoon, travel to the Uluru sunset viewing area. Enjoy nibbles and a complimentary glass of wine as the sun sets over the western horizon and the evening sky brings out the many shades of colour that Uluru is famous for. Occasionally, when it rains, you may be lucky enough to see the spectacular sight of water cascading over the sides of Uluru. Return to Ayers Rock Resort.

Day 2: Sounds of Silence Dinner
This morning join the Uluru Sunrise, Climb and Base Tour (Y18) or for the non-climbers, the Uluru Sunrise and Guided Cultural Walk (Y41). Both tours include watching sunrise at Uluru and a visit to Mutitjulu Waterhole and the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. The first option allows time for climbing, whilst the second option includes a longer guided walk at the base of Uluru. Time is also available for an optional scenic helicopter flight (own expense). In the evening dine under a million stars at the award-winning Sounds of Silence Dinner. Enjoy a gourmet buffet of Australian delicacies accompanied by fine Australian wines, then sit back and relax as an astronomer takes you on a tour of the southern night skies (conditions permitting).

Day 3: Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Witness the early morning light as you travel to Kata Tjuta. On the way your Driver/Guide will explain the geological history of the giant domes. At Kata Tjuta your Driver/ Guide will escort you on a 2-3 hour walk between the valleys of conglomerate rock. The walking path is rocky, and requires a good level of fitness. Admire the native flora and fauna in the cool morning air. At the Valley of the Winds lookout there is time to photograph and enjoy the view over the central valley of Kata Tjuta. This afternoon you will return to Ayers Rock Resort.

3 DAY ULURU AND KINGS CANYON

Day 1: Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) – Uluru (Ayers Rock)
On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport (flights to arrive prior to 1.00pm) you will be transferred to your hotel. The afternoon is spent touring Kata Tjuta, including a walk at Walpa Gorge. Travel to the sunset viewing area to enjoy nibbles and a complimentary glass of wine and watch the effect of the setting sun on the colour of Uluru. Don’t forget your camera!

Day 2: Uluru (Ayers Rock) – Kings Canyon
This morning join the Uluru Sunrise, Climb and Base Tour (Y18) or for the non-climbers, the Uluru Sunrise and Guided Cultural Walk (Y41). Day 3: Kings Canyon
This morning join your guide for the rocky climb to the canyon rim for superb views of Watarrka National Park (for those with a good level of fitness, supportive footwear essential). Alternatively explore the canyon floor (an easier, shady walk). Travel on to Alice Springs or back to Ayers Rock Resort this afternoon.

Day 1: Uluru (Ayers Rock)
On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport you will be transferred to your hotel (flights to arrive prior to 3.00pm).
This evening view sunset and the changing colours of Uluru while enjoying nibbles and complimentary wine. Travel to our exclusive venue to enjoy a delicious barbecue dinner and stargazing (weather permitting).

Day 2: Kata Tjuṯa (the Olgas)
Rise early to watch the first rays of the sun set the Red Centre and Uluru alight.
After sunrise join your Guide for a drive around the base of Uluru. Then travel by coach to the Mutitjulu Walk where you will be escorted to the Mutitjulu Waterhole. View Aboriginal rock art and hear about the Aboriginal and European history of the area.
Visit the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre to see locally-made arts and crafts.
This afternoon travel to Kata Tjuta. Enjoy a 2-3 hour walk through the domes to the Valley of the Winds (shorter walk available). Marvel at an outback sunset while enjoying complimentary wine.Day 3: Kings Canyon
Rise early to travel to Kings Canyon.
Climb to the rim of the canyon for marvellous views of Watarrka National Park (for those with a good level of fitness).
Continue the 3 hour walk around the canyon with your Guide and learn about its geology.
Alternatively, enjoy a more leisurely 1½ hour walk along the boulder-strewn canyon floor.
This afternoon return to Ayers Rock Resort or travel on to Alice Springs.

Day 2: Kings Canyon
Travel to Kings Canyon in the heart of Watarrka National Park for an experience you’ll never forget. For the active, choose to make the rocky climb with your guide to the canyon rim for incredible panoramic views of the outback landscape. Alternatively you may explore the shady canyon floor for an easier but still spectacular walk. Return to Ayers Rock Resort.Day 3: Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Rise early to join the Uluru Sunrise and Base Tour. Watch an incredible Uluru sunrise from the sunrise viewing platform and later join a guided base walk where you’ll learn about the sacred sites and features of Uluru. Continue to Mutitjulu Waterhole and visit the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. You will be transferred to Ayers Rock Airport to connect with your flight (flights to depart after 1:00pm, airfare not included).
