Day 1: Darwin – Kakadu
Join the famous Jumping Crocodile Cruise. Travel into Kakadu National Park and visit the Bowali Visitor Centre. There is time for an optional 30-minute scenic flight ($120). View ancient Aboriginal rock art and walk to the top of Ubirr for magnificent views.
Accommodation: Aurora Kakadu (Budget), Aurora Kakadu (Standard) or Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel (Superior), Kakadu.

Day 2: Kakadu – Katherine
Take a guided walk at Nourlangie Rock. Continue to the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre, before a cruise on the famous Yellow Water Billabong to spot saltwater crocodiles and prolific wildlife. This afternoon travel via Pine Creek and on to Katherine. Accommodation: Ibis Styles Katherine (Budget or Standard or Superior), Katherine.

Day 3: Katherine – Darwin
Cruise through Katherine Gorge and watch for crocodiles basking in the sun. Inspect the National Park Information Centre, before continuing to Edith Falls, where there is time to take a refreshing swim (conditions permitting). Stop at the Adelaide River War Cemetery, before returning to Darwin.
Accommodation: Value Inn (Budget), Travelodge Mirambeena Resort (Standard) or Novotel Atrium (Superior), Darwin.

Day 4: Litchfield National Park – Darwin
Travel south to Litchfield National Park. From the Tabletop Range view Florence and Tolmer Falls. Continue to Wangi Falls, where there is time to relax and swim. Return to Darwin.

4 DAY KAKADU, ARNHEM LAND, TWIN FALLS AND JIM JIM FALLS

Day 1: Darwin – Kakadu
Travel into Kakadu National Park. Stop at Nourlangie Rock, where your Guide will lead a walk to view ancient Aboriginal rock art. After lunch, we join our local guide for a cruise on Yellow Water Billabong. Enjoy spectacular scenes of paperbark swamps, water lilies, and bird life and you may be lucky enough to spot a saltwater crocodile. We make a visit to the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre.
Accommodation: Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel (Moderate or Superior), Kakadu, 3 nights.

Day 2: Arnhem Land – 4-Wheel Drive Adventure
An early start this morning as we travel by 4 Wheel Drive vehicle into Arnhem Land and the Mikinj Valley. We travel through spectacular scenery including sandstone outcrops, escarpments, forests and floodplains. Learn about traditional land ownership, bush skills and ‘bush tucker’. View Aboriginal rock art in its natural state. Most tours are accompanied by an Aboriginal guide.

Day 3: Jim Jim and Twin Falls
Travel by 4 Wheel Drive to Jim Jim Falls carpark from where it is a 900-metre bushwalk to the Jim Jim Falls plunge pool. The walk is rugged involving scrambling up and down rocks. At the plunge pool, there is time for swimming and relaxing. Travel by boat up the first part of the gorge at Twin Falls before walking to the base of the falls. Return to Jabiru.

Day 4: Kakadu – Darwin
This morning stop at Ubirr for a short walk to view Aboriginal rock art. Join the Guluyambi Cruise along the East Alligator River in search of saltwater crocodiles. We have an Aboriginal guide with us and with the special permission of the local people, we will be able to go ashore in Arnhem Land. Visit the Bowali Visitor Centre. There is time for an optional 30-minute scenic flight ($120) over the Arnhem Land Escarpment. The return journey to Darwin, arriving at approximately 7.30 pm.
