2-DAY ULURU EXPLORER

Day 1: Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) – Uluru (Ayers Rock)
On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport, we transfer you to your hotel (flights into Ayers Rock Airport prior to 1.00 pm). This afternoon explore Walpa Gorge at Kata Tjuta, then travel to the sunset viewing area to enjoy nibbles and a complimentary glass of wine while watching the sunset at Uluru.

Day 2: Uluru (Ayers Rock) This morning
join the Uluru Sunrise, Climb and Base Tour (Y18) or for the non-climbers, the Uluru Sunrise and Guided Cultural Walk (Y41). Both tours include sunrise at Uluru, a visit to Mutitjulu Waterhole and the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. The first option allows time for climbing, whilst the second option includes a longer guided walk at the base of Uluru. See page 16/17 for more itinerary details. You may have time for an optional scenic helicopter flight (own expense). In the afternoon you will return to Ayers Rock Resort.

Day 1: Kata Tjuta (the Olgas)
On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport, you will be transferred to the resort (flights to arrive prior to 1.00 pm). Travel to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). Walk to Walpa Gorge, where the walking trail follows the natural creek bed between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta. Witness the striking colour changes of Uluru at sunset while enjoying a glass of sparkling wine, with the option of continuing on to an outback BBQ.

Day 2: Uluru (Ayers Rock) This morning
Rise early to view the sunrise at Uluru then join your Driver Guide on a base tour to hear about the sacred sites and features of Uluru. Continue to the Mutitjulu Waterhole to view rock art and learn about the native flora and fauna. Visit the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. This afternoon travel to Alice Springs, arriving at approximately 7.30 pm.

Day 1: Uluru (Ayers Rock) – Barbecue Dinner
On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel (flights to arrive prior to 3.00 pm). This afternoon is at your leisure. This evening travel to the Uluru sunset viewing area. Enjoy nibbles and complimentary wine as the sun sets over the western horizon and the evening sky brings out the many shades of colour for which Uluru is famous. Don’t forget your camera! Later travel to our exclusive venue to enjoy a barbecue dinner. There is time for stargazing too (weather permitting).

Rise early to watch the first rays of the sun set the Red Centre and Uluru alight. From the viewing platform see many kilometres into the distance, for an ideal photo opportunity. After sunrise join your Guide for a drive around the base of Uluru. Then travel by coach to the Mutitjulu Walk where you will be escorted to the Mutitjulu Waterhole. This waterhole is a key source of water for the Aboriginal people in the area and has been in use for many thousands of years. See Aboriginal rock art and hear about the Aboriginal and European history of the area. Visit the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. It houses an amazing collection of original ceramics, paintings and punu (woodwork) that provide an insight into the unique and spiritual culture of the Anangu people, the traditional custodians of Uluru. This afternoon you will be transferred to Ayers Rock Airport (flights depart after 12.30 pm).
