| Day 1: Uluru (Ayers Rock) – Barbecue Dinner On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel (flights to arrive prior to 3.00 pm). This afternoon is at your leisure. This evening travel to the Uluru sunset viewing area. Enjoy nibbles and complimentary wine as the sun sets over the western horizon and the evening sky brings out the many shades of colour for which Uluru is famous. Don’t forget your camera! Later travel to our exclusive venue to enjoy a barbecue dinner. There is time for stargazing too (weather permitting). Accommodation: Outback Pioneer Budget Rooms (B), Outback Pioneer Hotel (R), Desert Gardens Hotel (S), Sails in the Desert Hotel (F), Ayers Rock Resort.Day 2: Uluru Sunrise & Base Tour – Depart Ayers Rock Rise early to watch the first rays of the sun set the Red Centre and Uluru alight. From the viewing platform see many kilometres into the distance, for an ideal photo opportunity. After sunrise join your Guide for a drive around the base of Uluru. Then travel by coach to the Mutitjulu Walk where you will be escorted to the Mutitjulu Waterhole. This waterhole is a key source of water for the Aboriginal people in the area and has been in use for many thousands of years. See Aboriginal rock art and hear about the Aboriginal and European history of the area. Visit the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. It houses an amazing collection of original ceramics, paintings and punu (woodwork) that provide an insight into the unique and spiritual culture of the Anangu people, the traditional custodians of Uluru. This afternoon you will be transferred to Ayers Rock Airport (flights depart after 12.30 pm). |
