Uluru Holiday Packages 2026: Experience Australia’s Red Centre

Uluru, the iconic red monolith in the heart of Australia’s outback, is a highly popular travel destination that you’ll find on many travellers’ bucket lists – perhaps even your own!

It’s a must-visit destination for travellers seeking a unique experience of awe-inspiring raw natural beauty.

Most travellers stay for three to five nights in Uluru, making it a perfect long-weekend adventure.

NT Travel’s travel agent, Kelly Winder, offers exclusive and unforgettable Uluru holiday packages, so you can explore natural wonders, immerse yourself in local culture, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Best Time to Visit Uluru

While Uluru is a year-round destination, the best time for many travellers to visit Uluru is May to September, outside the blistering summer months.

Between May and September, expect daytime temperatures of around 20-30°C (68-86°F), making it more comfortable to explore.

Winter in Uluru

Winter in Uluru is typically 20°C during the day, especially in June and July.

August is a little warmer, with very low expected rainfall.

Temperatures can drop to around 5°C at night, so be sure to pack a warm jacket for evening activities and tours.

Although rain is rare in the Red Centre, it’s possible to experience occasional showers during this time. However, this shouldn’t impact your travel plans, as most tours and activities will proceed as scheduled.

Feedback from one of our clients who travelled in March:

“Just to let you know we had a great time here in Uluru. Everything worked perfectly, the hotel and the tours were great. We made the right choice not over-exerting ourselves by doing any long hikes since the daytime temperatures here are still quite high.

The sunrise visit to Uluru was amazing. The tour company were great, and our guide was superb. The Field of Lights was also a majestic experience. During the day, we made use of the free activities and, of course, the pool.” – David, March 2025

Getting to Uluru

Uluru is easily accessible by air, with flights departing from some of Australia’s major cities.

  • Flights from Melbourne take a little over three hours.
  • Flights from Sydney take around 3.5 hours.
  • Flights from Brisbane that arrive via Sydney take around 7 hours.

Once you arrive, a free shuttle bus drops off travellers at most accommodations.

Airfares are typically much higher during school holidays, peak travel periods and for last-minute bookings.

Last-minute Uluru Holiday Bookings

Want to see Uluru at the last minute?

Uluru is a destination we often receive last-minute booking requests for – even for spontaneous celebrations such as birthdays or anniversaries.

After all, it’s not far to travel for a destination that offers such a unique experience and a distinctive geographical landscape. It’s also very rewarding, even for just a long weekend.

However, because Uluru isn’t a major city with many options, last-minute bookings tend to be more expensive, especially around peak periods.

Flights and accommodation may already be close to full or fully booked out.

Tours may be booked out, especially during peak periods.

However, Kelly has multiple contacts in Uluru who may be able to help with options not currently advertised on other travel booking websites (subject to availability).
