Five days exploring three of the Northern Territory's most dramatic parks: Kakadu, Nitmiluk and Litchfield. You'll meet Traditional Owners in Wulna Country, navigate crocodile-inhabited waters on the East Alligator River, and reach Jim Jim Falls' plunge pool. This route threads through ancient landscapes shaped by Indigenous knowledge and wet-season geology, moving between tropical waterholes and sandstone escarpments. Moderate fitness required; all meals included.

What to expect

Days combine guided walks, water-based travel, and cultural conversation. Expect early starts to beat heat and crowds; most swimming happens in natural pools beneath falls or gorge walls. The East Alligator cruise is a spotter's game—saltwater crocs are present but encounters are rare. Jim Jim Falls requires moderate scrambling and wading; water levels vary seasonally. Nights are basic but comfortable. You'll be driven between parks in a small-group vehicle, stopping for viewpoints and shorter walks. Indigenous guides share stories tied to Country rather than delivering rehearsed commentary.

Good to know

Bring sturdy water shoes, sun protection, and insect repellent. Mobile coverage is patchy. Wet season (November–March) means higher water flows and occasional road closures; dry season is May–September. Swimming in natural pools is safe; follow guide instructions on crocodile zones. Public transport exists but a hired vehicle is practical for this five-day loop.
